Hiking at Desert Mountain

One of the things that makes Desert Mountain Club unique from other clubs in Scottsdale, is the private hiking trails. It is the only club in town that has hundreds of acres of preserve dedicated for the enjoyment of members. The private hiking trails in Desert Mountain are a popular amenity for members. The views are endless and the trails are well marked. Members are welcome to explore and use the trails at their leisure. If you prefer to go with a group, the “Desperado Trail Scouts” offers weekly hikes throughout the Desert Mountain trail system. The trail guides are knowledgeable and passionate about the 15-mile trail system. Most hikes are moderate difficulty and take 60-90 minutes.

There are also “moonlight hikes” that are organized throughout the winter. If you’ve never hiked in the dark, it is an experience to remember. It is one of my favorite ways to experience the desert. Everything looks different in the moonlight. I highly recommend it.
