Update on the Desert Mountain Waitlist

The most frequent question that I am asked about Desert Mountain is the length of the waitlist. The current wait for a Desert Mountain Golf Membership is approximately 4-5 years for new applicants on the waitlist. There are currently 85 homeowners on the waitlist and property ownership is required to apply for membership. However, the good news is that it is possible to jump ahead of the entire waitlist by purchasing a home in Desert Mountain that has a transferable membership. There are many homes for sale in Desert Mountain that have a membership available. In those situations, the membership will transfer at the time of purchase, subject to club membership approval. The initiation fee is paid at close of escrow through the title company. This is the quickest path to a membership. You can have immediate access to the club and golf the day you purchase your new home.

If the home that you purchase does not have a membership available, then you could potentially still acquire a Lifestyle membership in a short amount of time. The club will allow homeowners on the waitlist for a Full Golf Membership to purchase a Lifestyle Membership, while waiting for a Golf Membership to become available. This is usually possible in 3-6 months. So you can become a part of the club, get to know other members, and enjoy all of the restaurants, activities and events at the club, fairly quickly.
