Fashion Flash Sale – January 26-27, 2014
As part of the American Indian Fashion exhibition, which will be running until October 26, 2014, the Heard Museum North will be holding an exclusive Fashion Flash Sale of items by renowned designers Lloyd Kiva New and Betty David. A members-only sale will be held on Sunday, January 26th at 1-4 p.m. The evening will feature a cash bar, hors d’oeuvres and curator’s comments on the two fashion designers. This event is only available to the first 100 members who RSVP. The second sale will take place on Monday, January 26th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be open to the general public. Attendance of this event is free with museum admission.
Nights at North – Wednesday evenings from January 29 to February 19th, 2014
The Heard Museum North will be hosting a series of lectures and panels through late January and early February. The first will be held on January 29th and will feature mother and son Barbara Teller Ornelas and Michael Teller Ornelas for a discussion on Navajo weaving. On February 5th, the museum will welcome blogger Adrienne Keene and Arizona State University Professor Dr. Carol Lujan for a lecture on cultural appropriation and stereotypes. Join us on February 12th for a panel discussion with artists from the millennial and X generations. Finally, fashion designer Orlando Dugi will offer his thoughts on his work and inspiration on February 19th. All Nights at North evenings will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m. Lectures will start at 6:30 p.m.
