The 98th Annual Southwestern Amateur to be Held at Desert Mountain

The 2013 Southwestern Amateur tournament will be held on June 17th-21st at the Renegade Course at the Desert Mountain. The tournament is a leading event for the top ranked amateur golfers and launched the careers for many of today’s golf stars.

The tournament draws in crowds from all across the country that come to see the country’s finest up-and-coming talent. The players look forward to playing on the highly ranked Renegade course which is known for its outstanding beauty and its many accolades, including a spot on Golf Digest’s list of “America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses.”

The tournament will welcome 140 players to the course. A combination of invited and open entry golfers. Invited players consist of collegiate players, the top 15 finishers from last year’s tournament and individuals selected by the tournament’s committee. Open entry applicants are still welcome and are encouraged to apply if they  have a handicap index of 1.4 or better.
