Southwestern Am at Desert Mountain to Finally Include Female Golfers

The Southwestern Amateur Golf Tournament is a long standing tradition at Desert Mountain Club. It is one of the oldest and most respected tournaments for amateur players around the country. Now in its 105th year, the tournament has finally decided to include female golfers. The tournament will include men’s and women’s divisions, plus a mixed team format. It will be a unique tournament to showcase some of the top collegiate male and female players. It is a highly selective event with only 144 competitors. The maximum index for men is 1.4 and the maximum index for women is 3.2. All of the golfers are competing at a national-level.

The Southwestern Am will be held at the Cochise and Chiricahua Courses of Desert Mountain from June 17th-20th, 2020. The golfers love playing at Desert Mountain. In addition to being able to play at two stunning courses, the club welcomes the athletes with open arms. Unlike other tournaments, Desert Mountain provides free lodging for the players at homes donated by club members. Just another example of how nice Desert Mountain members really are.
