September Brought Significant Progress to the Desert Mountain Club Turnover

In September there was significant progress made with the Desert Mountain Club turnover. The Advisory Board and the owners of Desert Mountain Properties came to an agreement on how much should be paid to the Advisory Board for the expenses that have been incurred through this turnover process. They have settle on a one-time , lump sum payment that will satisfy any financial obligations under the club bylaws. By coming to an agreement on this they have eliminated a lot of time and money that would have gone into these negotiations and can now get back to the overall tasks involved with the club turnover.

The advisory Board has also reached an agreement that Bob Jones will remain at Desert Mountain. Once the turnover has taken place he will become the club’s General Manager/Chief Operating Officer. It will remain his duty to oversee all aspects of the club operations. They have decided to keep him on board because of the excellent work he has done over the past 12 years. He has also built a great reputation within the private club industry, is very well liked by Desert Mountain members and by his peers. This seems to be a smart move and a great way to keep the club functioning in an organized manner.

After many discussions with the Desert Mountain senior staff, the Advisory Board is much closer to revealing the 2011 operating budget and cost of post-turnover memberships. They have also resumed discussions with Crescent Holdings in regards to the cost of additional club assets. Since the two parties were previously so far apart in cost and could not reach an immediate agreement on how to meet in the middle, these discussions had previously been put on hold.
