New Dress Code at Desert Mountain

November 25, 2017 by Carmen Brodeur

The Board of Directors has approved a new, more casual dress code for the Desert Mountain Club. The previous dress code did not take the extreme temperature of the summer into consideration. The new dress code is much more casual, which reflects the current sentiment and culture of Desert Mountain. It also allows for shorts and summer golf attire in the clubhouses year round and in the dining rooms during the summer season.  There was previously some ambiguity around whether jeans were allowed in the dining rooms. The code now refers to “dress denim”  as being allowed in the dining rooms year round. This means jeans that are now allowed unless they are ill-fitting, baggy, torn, worn, stained or bleached. Below is a short summary of the new dress code:

Summer Season (June 1 – September 30th)

Men’s and ladies’ golf attire (including shorts) or dress denim may be worm in all clubhouse dining rooms, bars, lounges and patios during the day and evening. Men may not wear hats in any clubhouse or bar (other than Cafe Verde, Cochise Geronimo Mens Grill and Renegade Hideout). Men’s and ladies’ dress sandals may be worn in all clubhouses.

Winter Season (October 1-May 31)

Men must wear long pants, or dress denim, and a collared shirt in the dining rooms. Men’s and ladies’ golf attire (including shorts) or dress denim may be worn in all clubhouses, bars, lounges and patios. Workout wear can be worn at Cafe Verde and Renegade Hideout.

Members and their guests are asked not to wear the following at any of the clubhouses: short shorts, very short skirts, cut-offs, torn, worn, stained or bleached jeans, baggy and ill-fitting jeans, tight-fitting stretch pants, cargo shorts with exterior pockets, tank tops or graphic tee shirts.

The more casual dress code is being warmly welcomed by most members!
