Has the Desert Mountain HOA Lost Their Mind??

I think someone at the Desert Mountain Home Owners Association has officially lost their mind.

A very good friend of mine who lives in Sunrise Village in Desert Mountain received a letter from the HOA informing them that they violated the community rules for….putting up their Christmas tree in their living room prior to Thanksgiving!

Does someone have a few screws loose or what? This family put up their Christmas tree INSIDE their home a few days prior to Thanksgiving and apparently because the lights on the tree were visible through the windows they broke the rules. No Christmas decorations are allowed in Desert Mountain prior to Thanksgiving. Hello! This was INSIDE their home!

Let me say that I understand perfectly that the HOA needs to follow all the rules. They can’t enforce some and not others. Many Desert Mountain Members love the fact that the HOA is strictly enforced. But this is ridiculous. I highly doubt the rule was intended for interior decorations. What do you think?
