Dress Codes at Desert Mountain

In general, Desert Mountain is very casual. In fact all of the country clubs in Arizona tend to be more casual than in the rest of the country. After all, many members are here on vacation. The heat also affects what dress is considered appropriate. Here is a break down of what to wear on the golf course and in dining areas.

GOLF

Golf attire is welcome throughout the club, and required when on all courses and practice areas.

For men, proper attire includes shirts with short or long sleeves, and collars or mock turtlenecks, as well as slacks or mid-length shorts. Ideally, all shirts should be tucked in, and golf caps or visor brims should be facing forward.

For women, proper attire includes golf shirts, capris, slacks, appropriate length shorts, golf skirts or skorts, or tasteful golf-specific clothing. Again, golf caps and visor brims should be forward facing.

It is considered inappropriate on the golf courses to wear short shorts, casual cargo shorts/pants, shorts or pants with protruding pockets, cut-offs, running and gym shorts, yoga pants, jogging suits, sweat pants, tank tops, racer-back tops, men’s sleeveless shirts, t-shirts, and denim.

DINING

There are a few items of clothing that should not be worn when dining at Desert Mountain. Short shorts, casual cargo shorts/pants or shorts/pants with protruding pockets, cut-offs, running shorts, gym shorts, yoga pants, tights, casual denim jeans or shorts, jogging suits, sweat pants, tank tops, racer-back tops, T-shirts, men’s sleeveless shirts, and swimwear are not permitted in any restaurant other than the Sonoran Café.
