Do You Have to be a Member to Live at Desert Mountain?

I am often asked by clients if they have to become a member of the club if they buy a home in Desert Mountain. The answer is NO. According to the club, there are currently 400 homeowners in Desert Mountain that are not members of the club. There is no requirement to join the club when you purchase a home in Desert Mountain. 85% of people who buy a home in Desert Mountain will also become a member. Many people purchase homes in Desert Mountain simply because they like the community or the home, not necessarily because of the golf club. Homeowners in Desert Mountain who are not members of the club get the benefit of living in a gated community with roving security patrols. They are not able to use any of the clubhouses, golf courses, facilities or participate in Club events.

The only country clubs in Scottsdale that tie a membership to a real estate purchase are Desert Highlands and Terravita. In Desert Highlands all homeowners must be golf club members. In Terravita all homeowners must be at least social members of the club.
