Desert Mountain to Host the 2012 Charles Schwab Cup

Desert Mountain Club was excited to announce this week that it will host the 2012 Charles Schwab Cup Championship on the PGA Champions Tour. A formal contract to that effect was just signed on October 6th.

The annual field for the Schwab Cup consists of the top 30 players on the Champions Tour, based upon a season-long, points-based competition. This significant tournament will be held on the Cochise course over the period of October 29 through November 4, 2012. These dates will coincide with the 25th anniversary activities and a visit from Jack Nicklaus.

The contract allows for up to two more such Schwab Cup tournaments before the end of 2016, should Desert Mountain and the PGA Tour both agree that the added event(s) would be advantageous to each.

A formal public announcement of Desert Mountain hosting of the 2012 Schwab Cup will be forthcoming in the next few weeks. I am happy to inform you in advance of this terrific news. This will provide Desert Mountain with a huge opportunity to showcase the Club.
