Desert Mountain Golf Club members and employees are excited to watch one of their own compete in a popular reality show on the Golf Channel. Three Scottsdale residents have been selected to compete in the hit reality show, “Big Break Florida,” but none quite stand out like Desert Mountain employee Kylee Duede. Diagnosed at a young age with 
rheumatoid arthritis in her left knee, 22-year-old Duede is a true fighter, battling against the odds to earn her place among the pros. As the season continues, fans of the show find themselves rallying behind the Arizona native, who has more than proven herself a contender.
Duede grew up in Glendale, Arizona, though she now lives in golf-friendly Scottsdale. She often practices her game at Desert Mountain, where she works as a server in one of the clubhouse restaurants. She also plays at Talking Stick Golf Club with her swing coach, Jack LoBiondo, who was among those who encouraged her to audition for the show. Duede has always dreamed of one day playing in the LPGA Tour, and when an actual dream steered her toward “Big Break Florida,” she knew that the opportunity was too good to pass up.
The winner of “Big Break Florida” will receive over $100,000 in cash and prizes. Duede has made it through several challenges and eliminations thus far and has a pretty good shot at taking home the prize. She is up against a lineup of talented professional golfers, but her skills as well as her positive attitude have kept her in the game both mentally and physically. Meanwhile, Duede’s participation in the show has certainly earned her celebrity status at Desert Mountain Golf Club, where she is often recognized by members.
The next episode of “Big Break Florida” airs on Monday, April 21st, and Desert Mountain watchers are excited to see what the future holds for Kylee Duede.
