The Desert Mountain Board of Directors has published their mid-year report to update members on the financial status and direction of the club. The Board proclaimed that they were on sold ground financially with a strong cash position and balance sheet. The revenues are trending higher year over year due to an annual member dues increase, increased initiation/transfer fees and revenue growth at the Sonoran Clubhouse. The Club is however challenged by the loss of members during the 2017 one-time Exit Transfer Option. The Club has instituted a new marketing program to expand the golf membership.
As of June 30th, 2017, the total number of Desert Mountain members is 2040. This is up from the 2016 membership of 2010. The additional memberships is partly due to the increased popularity of the Club Lifestyle memberships since the Sonoran Clubhouse renovation. The total number of golf memberships in June of 2017 is 1902. This is down slightly from the June 2016 membership total of 1930. There is a total of 152 Lifestyle memberships, up from the previous years total of 116.
The food and beverage sales is up 8% from the previous year. Partially due to the popularity of the new Cafe Verde which is the newest casual dining option in the Sonoran Clubhouse.
The successful sale of Parcel 19 is the most exciting news in the Club. The future influx of capital from that sale of land will further strengthen the Club’s financials.
