DC Ranch Golf Course Closed for Renovation

February 8, 2026 by Carmen Brodeur

The Country Club at DC Ranch is currently undergoing a full Golf Course Improvement Project to rebuild core infrastructure and reimagine the course architecture. The DC Ranch golf course will be closed for approximately 10 months from January 2026 through the end of September 2026. This significantly affects both current members, and any prospective members. Clearly if you are looking to join a golf club in 2026, a DC Ranch membership may not be the right choice.

The club frames the project as taking the golf course from “good to great,” explicitly aiming for a more memorable, fun course, while also modernizing failing infrastructure. It is improving irrigation and addressing long-standing playability issues like steep bunker faces, drainage problems, and rough/green “tie-ins.”

    • The renovation will push the course to par 72 and over 7,000 yards, while still being playable for everyday members.
    • There will be better playability across skill levels: emphasis on fewer forced carries from forward tees, more run-up options into greens, and bunker changes that make them less punishing to enter/exit and play from.
    • The club is incorporating drought-resistant turf and turf reduction for desert-appropriate stewardship.

This is not “just a facelift.” It’s a heavy-construction renovation including

1) Irrigation system replacement

2) Complete bunker renovation for easier entry/exit, improved drainage, and upgraded playability.

3) Rebuilding and regrading greens to improve approaches and tie-ins so players can use the ground game (run-up shots) more often. This is important for broader playability (including women’s tees and senior players).

4) Improving drainage and grading

5) Turf reduction + drought-resistant turf conversion to reduce the overall maintained turf footprint and move toward drought-resistant turf choices. This is both a conservation commitment and an operating-efficiency move in a desert environment.

6) Rerouting tees, corridors, and cart paths for strategy and separation

  • shifting tee pads (including adding new back tees in places, removing others)
  • redefining fairway widths/landing zones (often “reduce turf here, add there”)
  • moving or hiding cart paths so they don’t intrude visually or functionally
