Chiricahua Golf Course Renovation

Desert Mountain Club is renovating its Chiricahua Golf Course over the summer. This is the third, out of 7 golf courses, that will have cool season turf installed. This summer is the second and final phase of the two year conversion project. The cool season turf has year-round playability which increases the number of days that the course can remain open. Last summer the tropical bermuda grass base was converted to cool season ryegrass fairways and blue grass/fescue roughs. This summer, the bentgrass greens will be replaced with different grass. The bunkers of Chiricahua are also being renovated with capillary concrete in the base. This provides more efficient drainage for water in the bunkers.

Chiricahua will be closed May 1 to November 1, 2019 during the renovation. When it reopens, the course will have been fully converted to year round turf on all tees, fairways and greens.
