4 Ways to Exit the Club

Clients who are considering buying a Desert Mountain membership will often ask me about the ways to exit the club. It is always wise to ask this question for any private club you are considering joining. Desert Mountain has 4 options for members to transfer their memberships:

1. Transfer your membership by including it in the sale of a Desert Mountain home or lot. The $65,000 transfer fee is negotiated between the buyer and the seller within the purchase contract.
2. Sell the membership in the Membership Resale Program. This is done through the membership department and each member can price their membership on a monthly basis at a price they choose. Memberships are sold at “market based pricing” through this program. The $65,000 membership transfer fee is required.
3. Member arranged transfer occurs when the member finds a buyer for their membership. The member negotiates with the buyer directly for the price of the membership and the $65,000 transfer fee.
4. Legacy transfer allows you to transfer your membership to a child or grandchild without a transfer fee.
