The new village of Seven Desert Mountain is currently under construction. It will have a total of 190 homes around the new short executive golf course. Three builders are involved and are creating three different neighborhoods within the village. Camelot Homes is building the mid-level homes. They will be 2600-4500 sq ft detached patio homes on very small lots. Camelot has just announced that because of “overwhelming interest” in the project the first homes will be sold by lottery. Anyone who is interested in purchasing a home from them will have to either submit proof of funds to purchase the home or be prequalified with one of their lenders prior to November 2nd. After the lottery, the lucky “winners” will be contacted to make an appointment to buy a home.
I have been in real estate for many years and I have seen dozens of lotteries for new home communities. Sometimes the demand really justifies some sort of system like that. Often it is just a sales tactic and the “overwhelming” number of buyers are only casually interested. It will be interesting to see if the community sells out in a heartbeat or not. I will keep you up to date.
Feel free to contact me with any questions about the top golf clubs in Scottsdale. I am happy to help you compare your options. I specialize in helping home buyers in Scottsdale golf communities.
