Desert Mountain Club is one of the most sought after golf clubs in Scottsdale. As a result, there is currently an ample wait list for new members for the club. However, there is a way to circumvent the wait list and jump to the front of the line. This article will explain the wait list situation and your best options.
The current wait list, as of September, 2023, is approximately 40 prospective applicants. The length of the wait list fluctuates monthly as there is always some movement month to month. The 40 applicants have already submitted a membership application with all supporting documentation and references, been approved for membership by the Board, and are waiting for an available membership. The wait list has different categories of priority including current homeowners, current members wishing to upgrade their membership, owners of Desert Mountain lots who have received a building permit, and lot owners who do not have a building permit.
The best way to skip ahead of the wait list is to purchase a home that has a membership available with it. Approximately 25% of homes for sale in Desert Mountain, have a membership available for sale as part of the transaction. In that situation, you close on the house with the property owner and purchase a membership from the club, at close of escrow. It is advisable to start the membership process, prior to making an offer on the home.
