The Troon Country Club is completely full and has a lengthy list of prospective members on the waitlist. This is similar to almost every other club in Scottsdale. The current wait to join Troon is approximately 5 years. As a result, the Club has recently stopped taking any new applications for membership. Anyone who is interested in joining the club can go on the “interest list”. Those people will be contacted in the future, once the club lifts the suspension on applications.
The membership cap at Troon remains at 300 members for full Golf with an $85,000 initiation fee. The Sport Social cap is 220 members with a $20,000 initiation. The turnover rate at Scottsdale golf clubs has been very low during Covid. There are very few people who have given up their golf memberships. There is a huge demand for golf memberships during the pandemic as people have flocked to Scottsdale. It is difficult to predict how long this will last, because many factors come into play. Professionals are able to work more remotely these days. Many people are thus moving to Scottsdale while working online. The pandemic has also shifted the priorities of many people.
