Today the Desert Mountain Master Board and Management sent an email to all owners of homes in Desert Mountain about certain problem properties in the community. As you may be aware, two homes in the community burned down and a few under construction were abandoned due to these economic times. The one which most members are aware of is Painted Sky, Lot 42, which is the home that burned down along the Apache Golf Course. It is most obvious due to its prime location on the golf fairway. The Desert Mountain HOA has been working to identify, monitor and remedy problem home sites in the Desert Mountain community. Each site will be handled differently based on situation.
The Desert Mountain Association filed a legal complaint against the owner of Painted Sky, Lot 42, seeking injunctive relief to either complete construction per the approved plans or to restore the lot to its original condition. Other “problem” properties have been foreclosed on and the HOA is requiring the new owners to cure defects. On a positive note, the home at Saguaro Forest, lot 178, which was destroyed by fire earlier this year while under construction will begin to rebuild soon.
It is great to see that the Desert Mountain Board is taking care of these situations to make sure that the community stays beautiful and remains the most prestigious community in Scottsdale. Many times in other neighborhoods these things are overlooked and could make a neighborhood look “run down”. Desert Mountain takes pride in the appearance of the neighborhood and is very serious about protecting your financial investment.
