Desert Mountain Club has a “Food and Beverage Minimum” similar to other clubs. Each membership is required to spend $2000 per year at the club restaurants. Any membership that has not met their $2000 minimum by December 31st, will be charged the balance in January. Most clubs in Scottsdale have a similar minimum requirement, except for Silverleaf and Estancia which do not have minimums. You can compare food and beverage minimums at Scottsdale golf clubs by clicking on the link.
Apparently Desert Mountain has been having an issue each year with members making excessive take-out orders from the restaurants in order to meet their unused food minimum during the last month of the year. As a result, Desert Mountain has instituted a new rule that take-out orders over $150 per membership during December will not apply toward the annual food minimum. This only applies to orders during December.
It is unfortunate that a few members have resulted in this change. I know many members who only use their Desert Mountain home seasonally during the holidays. Those members will not be happy with this change.
I would be happy to help you compare the top Scottsdale golf clubs. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
