Yesterday Desert Mountain Club held a townhall meeting to provide members with further details about the sale of Parcel 19. As you remember from my previous blog, Desert Mountain plans to sell Parcel 19 to Meritage Homes of Arizona for $21 Million.
At the meeting, members were provided with preliminary plans for the new Meritage community. It will include luxury homes priced between $875,000 and $1,100,000. They will be similar to the Meritage development at Mirabel Village just across the way. According to the Purchase and Sale agreement, Meritage must obtain approval from the Desert Mountain Club prior to submitting them for governmental approvals. This will ensure that the quality of this neighboring community will be up to the Desert Mountain standards.
Members are almost out of time to cast their votes for the sale of parcel 19. As of today, there are only 83 more votes needed to make the approval official. It’s important that all members vote by 5pm on March 22, 2014. The official results of the Parcel 19 sale and the new Board of Directors will be announced at the annual meeting, scheduled for March 26th.
