Desert Mountain has recently decreased the cap of Golf memberships and has increased the cap for Lifestyle memberships. The total cap for all memberships at Desert Mountain has not changed and remains at 2665.
The Equity Golf cap was reduced from 2375 to 2315 memberships because of the increased demand for Lifestyle memberships. The new fitness center and spa at the Sonoran Clubhouse caused a spike in the demand for Lifestyle memberships. The new Seven community is also expected to increase the demand for the Lifestyle memberships because of the deed restrictions requiring all owners to purchase one type of membership. As a result, the cap for Lifestyle memberships was increased from 290 to 350 members.
The reduction of golf memberships also provides the club with flexibility to increase the number of social memberships during periods of declining growth in golf. This offset allows the club to change with trends and stay ahead of any curves.
