Did you know that Desert Mountain has its own vast network of hiking trails for members to enjoy? Whether you are a beginning hiker or a full-blown outdoor enthusiast, there is a trail designed for your skill-level at Desert Mountain. Tomorrow evening, Desert Mountain residents are invited to the Trails for a peaceful full moon hike. This time of year offers the perfect weather for early morning and evening hikes, so don’t miss this great opportunity.
The hike will begin along the Sunset Summit Trail, following the east leg around to the Hohokam Camp Trail. From there, you can enjoy splendid views of the city lights and the valley below. After following Hohokam Camp south, hikers will return on the Grapevine Wash Trail, an easy loop that features a wide range of Sonoran plant-life. The full hike is expected to take about 90 minutes to complete. Difficulty ranges from easy to intermediate, so all skill-levels are welcome.
Come out and enjoy the cool weather and tranquil scenery with your friends and neighbors. The hike begins at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, March 14th, at the cul-de-sac trailhead. Hikers are encouraged to bring flashlights or headlamps and, of course, plenty of water. This is a residents-only event; however, no RSVP is required.
