Desert Mountain Golf Course Overseed Schedules for 2016

Every year, it is necessary to close and overseed the six Desert Mountain golf courses. In fact, some may have already witnessed Desert Mountain Golfthe closures of Cochise and Geronimo at the beginning of the month.

While overseeding may impact your chance to play your favorite course, the benefit of the process far exceeds the sacrifice. The Agronomy Department constantly strives to provide members the ultimate golfing experience and is focused on the goal of optimizing golf course conditioning, playability, and accessibility for all levels of players. In this effort, overseeding Desert Mountain’s prized courses will allow the grasses a chance to rest and regrow, and ultimately recondition itself into a fine playing surface.

The closure schedule for this year is as follows:

Apache

From Monday, July 4th through Friday, October 14th, 100% of the course will be closed.

Chiricahua

From Tuesday, July 5th through Friday, October 14th, 99% of the course will be closed.

Cochise

Currently, this course is experiencing a 60% closure for overseeding. This will last until Sunday, July 31st. Later in the summer, the course will experience an additional 76% closure between the dates of Thursday, September 1st through Thursday, November 17th.

Geronimo

Currently, this course is experiencing an 88% closure for overseeding. This will last until Wednesday, August 31st. Later in the fall, the course will experience an additional 25% closure between the dates of Saturday, October 22nd through Thursday, November 17th.

Outlaw

From October 15th through Sunday, November 6th, the Outlaw course will experience a 21% closure for overseeding.

Renegade

From Friday, September 23rd through Wednesday October 19th, this course will experience a 26% closure for overseeding.

Plan and prepare to play your course favorites before they close for several weeks! Once the courses have had a chance to regrow, you’ll want to pencil in a date to try out the reconditioned surface after the overseeding as well.

This year’s overseed schedule will result in 16 more golf days annually and provide access to more courses by the members.

Desert Mountain’s Advanced Guard Gate System

Living in a gated community is one of the best ways to protect your home and your property. Monitored Desert Mountain Luxury Homeentrances, on-duty personnel, and limited access assures residents that those entering the community have a purpose for being there.

Desert Mountain is an entirely gated community. In fact every home in the community is double-gated, with the guard gate at the entrance of the community and an electronic gate at the village.

The gate access system at Desert Mountain utilizes an advanced technological system. Homeowners can now control the entry of guests and vendors through the access system via the Internet using a desktop, tablet, or smartphone. By using the site GateAccess.net, they can set up entry permission and monitor who comes onto the property.

As an added bonus, you can receive a text or email notice when your guest arrives. The text message system is a great way to keep track of your service providers so you know if the housekeeper or landscaper came to your home.

Having security and accountability in the palm of your hand is an valuable benefit of the GateAccess.net system at Desert Mountain. Very few gated communities in Scottsdale utilize such advanced technology. The added flexibility of digital access permissions and real-time notifications will streamline the process of gaining your guests and service providers access to your home. The app can be downloaded on the iTunes app store for iPhones or on Google Play for Android.

If you would like a personal tour of any homes for sale in Desert Mountain please call or email me. I would be happy to give you an insiders view of this exclusive guard gated community in North Scottsdale.
